How we raise tomatoes right
Discover the myriad of ways NatureSweet is working to transform agriculture and improve the lives and working conditions of our Associates.
Launching Fair Trade: Our Latest Commitment To Our Associates
Starting January 2021, NatureSweet is proud to partner with Walmart on its journey to commit to Fair Trade USA. True to our ethos here at NatureSweet, our decision to enter the Fair Trade Certification program was simply part of our progress to reap what we sow. Our production of the world’s most delicious tomatoes is directly connected to the livelihoods of others, Fair Trade is a way to make a conscious choice for a better world. When you choose Fair Trade Certified™ goods, you’re part of the effort to support responsible companies, empower farmers, workers, and protect the environment.
Our Commitment To The Equitable Food Initiative
The Equitable Food Initiative or EFI certifies our greenhouses to ensure that we meet the highest standards in the industry. Annual audits led by a third-party, assesses our operations and interviews many associates to ensure our high standards are being met across the greenhouse. Our associates are the first and last hands that harvest and pack your tomatoes before you bring them home to your family. We take care of them so that they grow safer, tastier tomatoes for you!
Sustainability & Conservation
NatureSweet provides groundbreaking programs and benefits to our Associates because we believe in the fundamental truth of “we reap what we sow.” Sustainability means more than just an immediate impact to the environment, although we deeply care about that, too – but it’s also about creating sustainable communities for our Associates. We have created groundbreaking sustainability and social responsibility programs that help our local communities grow and prosper by the hands and hard work of our Associates.
Community-Building With Our Associates
We grow the best-tasting tomatoes because we have the best Associates! NatureSweet’s success as a company is due to the professional skills and hard work of our Associates who make it possible to grow the best-tasting tomatoes. We provide year-round, full-time employment to associates who strive to deliver results, and invest in initiatives that will improve the well-being of associates and the communities in which they live and work.
