Preparation

Wash tomatoes in cold water and then cut out stem ends (do not cut out stem of cherry tomatoes). Tomatoes can be peeled if desired. The most common way of slicing tomatoes is crosswise. However, slicing vertically from the stem end to the blossom end also makes nice slices, with less loss of seeds and juice.

Selection

For more than 30 years, we’ve been working tirelessly to grow the perfect cherry tomato. Our modern technology and mastery of growing practices led us to become pioneers of the vine-ripened, hand-picked cherry tomato. At Nature’s Sweet, we plant our tomatoes in coconut husks because it is a much more sterile growing method than dirt. The water we use for irrigation comes from our own wells deep underground that are regularly monitored for purity.

Storage

Store at room temperature away from direct sunlight and dust. Use within 1 week after ripe. Tomatoes taste best if not refrigerated; refrigerate only if you can’t use them before they spoil or they are overripe. Unripened tomatoes can be ripened by holding at room temperature, away from sunlight. To ripen more quickly, put them into a paper bag.
